WHO WE ARE
We started our trajectory in 2003 and we continue to evolve: more than 2,500 students studied here painting, drawing, photography, art history and more.
The Lúcia Castanheira School of Arts is a pioneer in encouraging new talents. We have already offered more than 50 student exhibitions to more than 30,000 visitors.
OUR STORY
Lúcia Castanheira Escola de Artes is a space dedicated to the technical and aesthetic research of Contemporary Visual Arts, mainly in the painting on canvas modality.
It was conceived by visual artist and art educator Lúcia Castanheira in 2003.
Lúcia graduated in 1986 from the Escola Superior de Belas Artes (UEMG), had solo exhibitions at the Palácio das Artes in Belo Horizonte and at the Itaú gallery in the city of São Paulo and was selected to exhibit at the XXI Salão Nacional de Arte-BH, II Salão da Aeronáutica, XV Salão de Arte de Ribeirão Preto, among others... He also represented the State of Minas Gerais in the Federal Senate in the exhibition Artists Brasileiros (2009).
Since 2003, she has held annual exhibitions for students, promoted lectures, workshops and in-person and online courses in the most diverse languages of art in partnership with several other renowned professors from the city of Belo Horizonte, in addition to teaching painting, drawing and introduction to the history of art. art for children, teenagers and adults.
